MARKET RECAP – SEPTEMBER 28, 2023

STOCK MARKET

Dow Jones ended at $33,666.34 (+0.35%)

S&P 500 ended at $4,299.70 (+0.59%)

Nasdaq Composite ended at $13,201.28 (+0.83%)

The stock market experienced gains across all major indexes as investors tried to recover from the losses incurred earlier in the month. In addition, investors were also keeping a close eye on Treasury yields, which had been a concern due to their impact on interest rates and the overall economy. Nonetheless, yields have now eased from multiyear highs, improving investors’ confidence and leading to a rise in stock prices. Consequently, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite all increased, with the Nasdaq leading the upward trend. Moreover, the positive performance of the S&P 500 and the Dow was also boosted by the rise experienced by Meta Platforms and Intel and Cisco Systems. Furthermore, it is worth noting that investors were eager to improve their portfolios before the month and quarter concluded, which may have led to increased buying activity.

CRYPTO MARKET

Bitcoin rose by 3.29% with a value of $27,113.05 as of 3:00 PM CST, as stated by Coin Metrics.
