MARKET RECAP – NOVEMBER 27, 2023

STOCK MARKET

Dow Jones ended at $35,333.47 (-0.16%)

S&P 500 ended at $4,550.43 (-0.20%)

Nasdaq Composite ended at $14,241.02 (-0.07%)

The stock market began the week with losses across all major indexes as although Black Friday e-commerce spending had increased, some U.S. retailers had warned that consumer spending is weakening. This raised concerns about the impact of the Federal Reserve’s rate hikes on the broader economy. Additionally, the market was in short-term overbought conditions, and there were speculations about the bond market’s influence on equities. Consequently, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite all decreased slightly.

CRYPTO MARKET

Bitcoin fell by 1.91% for the day, with a value of $36,802.56 as of 3:00 PM CST, as stated by Coin Metrics.
