STOCK MARKET
Dow Jones ended at $44,296.51 (+0.97%)
S&P 500 ended at $5,969.34 (+0.35%)
Nasdaq Composite ended at $19,003.65 (+0.16%)
The stock market ended the week on a positive note with the Dow Jones Industrial Average increasing for a record close, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite also increased. The reported gains contributed to all major U.S. indexes heading for weekly gains of over 1.5%, marking a positive turn from the previous week when the post-election rally stalled. Moreover, despite the gains experienced by the Nasdaq, it is worth noting that investors seemed to be shifting their focus from tech stocks to sectors considered more economically sensitive, such as industrial and consumer discretionary sectors. In addition, small-cap stocks, which are represented by the Russell 2000, performed well, climbing more than 1% in today’s session and finished the week with a gain of over 4%.
