MARKET RECAP – NOVEMBER 13, 2024

STOCK MARKET

Dow Jones ended at $43,958.19 (+0.11%)

S&P 500 ended at $5,985.38 (+0.02%)

Nasdaq Composite ended at $19,230.74 (-0.26%)

The stock market witnessed mixed performances due to a variety of factors. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 were able to recover from yesterday’s losses, primarily due to a key inflation report that was in line with expectations. As a result, traders are contemplating the possibility of another rate cut by the Federal Reserve in December, as indicated by fed funds futures trading. Nevertheless, despite this, the Nasdaq Composite continued on a downward trend, closing with a slight decline. Moreover, with further economic data releases scheduled for later in the week, including producer price index data and retail sales numbers, the market is likely to continue experiencing volatility. Nonetheless, it is worth noting that many analysts are stating that it is time to stop worrying about the Fed and inflation, as stocks have been on autopilot since the election.

CRYPTO MARKET

Bitcoin rose by 0.08% for the day, with a value of $89,756.80 as of 3:00 PM CST, as stated by Coin Metrics.
