MARKET RECAP – MARCH 19, 2024

STOCK MARKET

Dow Jones ended at $38,110.76 (+0.83%)

S&P 500 ended at $5,178.51 (+0.56%)

Nasdaq Composite ended at $16,166.79 (+0.39%)

The stock market continued its upward momentum for a second day in a row as the Federal Reserve began its two-day policy meeting. Additionally, traders were keeping an eye on Nvidia following key announcements, including the unveiling of its latest artificial intelligence chip. As a result, the Dow Jones Industrial Average registered its best day since February, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite also saw gains. Moreover, as investors await for the Fed’s decision in regards of interest rates, Treasury yields dipped, boosting all major indexes further.

CRYPTO MARKET

Bitcoin fell by 4.05% for the day, with a value of $64,447.23 as of 3:00 PM CST, as stated by Coin Metrics.
