MARKET RECAP – JULY 25, 2023

STOCK MARKET

Dow Jones ended at $35,438.07 (+0.08%)

S&P 500 ended at $4,567.46 (+0.28%)

Nasdaq Composite ended at $14,144.56 (+0.61%)

The stock market witnessed gains across all major indexes for a second day in a row as investors weighed the latest earnings reports. Despite some companies experiencing declines, such as General Motors and UPS, there have been notable positive performances as it has been revelead that out of the 130 S&P 500 companies that have reported their second quarter earnings reports, approximately 79% of these companies have exceeded expectations, boosting the S&P 500, as well as investors’ confidence. In addition, although the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased slightly, it still reported a positive performace, marking its twelfth consecutive session of gains – the longest winning streak in six years. Moreover, the Nasdaq composite also reported gains that led the overall upward trend.

CRYPTO MARKET

Bitcoin rose by 0.28% with a value of $29,200.93 as of 3:00 PM CST, as stated by Coin Metrics.
