STOCK MARKET
Dow Jones ended at $36,204.44 (-0.11%)
S&P 500 ended at $4,569.78 (-0.54%)
Nasdaq Composite ended at $14,185.49 (-0.84%)
The stock market began the week with losses across all major indexes because investors were questioning whether the market was overvalued after five straight weeks of gains. As a result, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite, all declined. Additionally, technology shares, such as Nvidia, Microsoft and Meta, which have been leading the market’s gains, struggled in the session, leading to a decline in the Nasdaq Composite. Overall, it seems that investors were taking a step back after a strong period in the market and considering whether the market had gotten ahead of itself.
