STOCK MARKET
Dow Jones ended at $38,763.45 (-0.60%)
S&P 500 ended at $5,199.50 (-0.77%)
Nasdaq Composite ended at $16,195.81 (-1.05%)
The stock market has returned to a downward trend as it failed to fully recover from Monday’s sell-off. As a result, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500, and the Nasdaq Composite reported losses, with the latter decreasing by over 1% as Nvidia and other big technology stocks rolled over in the afternoon. Additionally, the benchmark 10-year Treasury yield continued to climb, returning to its level prior to weak jobs numbers last Friday. Moreover, it is worth noting that investors’ fears, as indicated by the Cboe Volatility Index, remain elevated despite a slight decline, and uncertainties such as the unwind of the yen carry trade and geopolitical headwinds are still on the horizon.
