MARKET RECAP – APRIL 26, 2024

STOCK MARKET

Dow Jones ended at $38,239.66 (+0.40%)

S&P 500 ended at $5,099.96 (+1.02%)

Nasdaq Composite ended at $15,927.90 (+2.03%)

The stock market has ended the week on a very positive note because the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite recorded their best week since November, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average also joined the upward trend. The gains experienced by the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite, were mainly due to the strong earnings reports released by Alphabet and Microsoft. Additionally, fresh U.S. inflation data showed core personal consumption expenditures rising 2.8%, beating expectations and alleviating fears of slowing growth and sticky inflation. This news helped Wall Street regain its footing after a down day earlier in the week.

CRYPTO MARKET

Bitcoin fell by 1.34% for the day, with a value of $63,776.43 as of 3:00 PM CST, as stated by Coin Metrics.
