MARKET RECAP – APRIL 11, 2024

STOCK MARKET

Dow Jones ended at $38,459.08 (-0.01%)

S&P 500 ended at $5,199.06 (+0.74%)

Nasdaq Composite ended at $16,170.36 (+1.68%)

The stock market witnessed mixed results as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite saw gains due to a rebound in tech shares, including companies like Nvidia, Amazon, Alphabet, and Apple. Technology stocks lifted the market midday as investors bought into the dip. Furthermore, although the Dow Jones Industrial Average did not join the upward trend, the losses it reported were minimal. Despite a hot CPI report earlier in the week, the producer price index reading for March came in below estimates, providing some relief. Moreover, as of now the market remains cautious about inflation and is awaiting big bank earnings later in the week, including JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, and Citigroup.

CRYPTO MARKET

Bitcoin rose by 1.11% for the day, with a value of $70,483.80 as of 3:00 PM CST, as stated by Coin Metrics.
