STOCK MARKET
Dow Jones ended at $37,735.11 (-0.66%)
S&P 500 ended at $5,061.82 (-1.20%)
Nasdaq Composite ended at $15,885.02 (-1.79%)
The stock market began the week with losses across all major indexes, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500, and the Nasdaq Composite all fell. Rising Treasury yields, reaching their highest level since mid-November, heightened concerns among investors, overshadowing positive earnings reports from companies like Goldman Sachs and strong retail sales data. In addition, geopolitical tensions, following Iran’s attack on Israel, further dented market confidence and contributed to the overall decline. Moreover, the losses of over 1% reported by the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 were also due to the recent sell of in technology stocks, including Salesforce, which dropped by more than 7% on reports of its potential acquisition of data management firm Informatica.
