MARKET RECAP – FEBRUARY 9, 2024

STOCK MARKET

Dow Jones ended at $38,671.69 (-0.14%)

S&P 500 ended at $5,026.61 (+0.57%)

Nasdaq Composite ended at $15,990.66 (+0.61%)

The stock market ended the week with mixed results as the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite rose. Factors such as strong earnings, a revision lower in December’s consumer price index, and the resilience of the economy contributed to the market rally. However, some companies reported disappointing results, such as PepsiCo, Pinterest, and Take-Two, which affected the overall market performance. Nonetheless, despite mixed results, earnings have generally been more robust than expected.

CRYPTO MARKET

Bitcoin rose by 4.68% for the day, with a value of $47,620.60 as of 3:00 PM CST, as stated by Coin Metrics.
