Divergence Alert: S&P 500 Hits New Highs While Dow Components Lag, Echoing Pre-September 2021 Sell-Off Pattern

At the top, we have the Dow Jones Industrials, in the middle is the Dow Transports Index, and at the bottom is the S&P 500. This rally in May and June is the first I’ve observed since September 2021 where the S&P 500 is hitting new highs, but both Dow Jones components aren’t keeping pace. The last time we saw such a divergence, it led to the sell-off in September 2021.
